This process consists of 5 steps, which are essential to successfully executing a strategy. SMP starts with an understanding of the organization and the individual drivers within this organization and analyzes the dynamics of the external and internal environment. From this analysis, change can be designed, implemented and optimized. The Strategic Management Process depicts a loop; a cycle that acknowledges that strategy formulation and implementing changes is a never-ending process.
