Implement, Measure & Optimize

Now that you have designed the change in step four, in this next step you implement the change – the final step in the Strategic Management Process. Implementing the change should be accompanied by measuring the performance indicators and possibly by additional activities that optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization. Ultimately, this final step works to achieve the business goals as defined in the strategy and mission of the organization.

Dynamics in the external and internal organization compel the organization to be adaptive. Change is not a final milestone; it is a never-ending process. The challenge is to continue to allow your organization to be capable of changing as you develop a design. A lean and learning organization is in a better position to adapt quickly to environmental changes.
